Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized and passionate individual to join our Testing team at San Carlos as Electromagnetic Effects (EME) Test Technician. As part of the lab operations, you will contribute to EMC/EMI tests that are executed as part of airborne electronic hardware development and certification effort.
Responsibilities
Work closely with System Electronics Test Engineer and provide the following support:
- Participate in EME test procedure and test report drafting.
- Assemble test setup (include cable management, fixturing, configuring measurement equipment) and perform calibration of test setup.
- Aid in trouble shooting EME issues.
- Assist with data logging (preparation and implementation).
- Work closely with Test Engineer and Equipment Design Engineer and aid in assembling and commissioning new EME test capability.
- Modify or improve existing setup to allow testing of diverse set of airborne electronics hardware.
- Assist in validation of new test setup.
- Write Standard Operating Procedures for repeatedly used EME test platforms.
- Maintain proper work log during test execution phase - capture, analyze, and create reports to ensure all data is captured.
- Periodically ensure test enabling equipment are in proper working condition.
- Embrace lab 5S philosophy and ensure EME test area is well maintained.
Required
- Hands on familiarity with RF amplifiers, spectrum analyzer, antennas, transient
generators etc. - Experience in trouble shooting EMC/EMI issues
- Prior experience in performing following type of EME tests: Conducted and Radiated Emissions test, Conducted and Radiated Susceptibility (HIRF), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
- Deliver projects on a timely manner
- Display positive attitude and work with team of Engineers and Technicians
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience
- High school diploma or GED
Desired
- Prior experience performing DO-160 EME tests (HIRF, lightning, voltage spike, ESD etc).
- Prior experience handling HV equipment.
- Experience with LabView for Data Acquistion and potentially automation (invoking desired equipment functions at different conditions).
- HV experience (>400V)
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $36-$50/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
