The Opportunity

The $1.2T automotive industry is a pillar of American culture, representing nearly 5% of U.S. GDP and shaping how people live and move every day. At the center of this ecosystem are dealerships—trusted local businesses that help consumers navigate one of the most important purchases they make.

Today, the industry is at an inflection point. Consumers expect the same speed, personalization, and convenience they experience in modern digital-first industries. At the same time, tighter margins and rising costs are driving a need for operational efficiency beyond what traditional software can support. Together, these shifts create a powerful opportunity to reimagine how dealerships deliver seamless experiences and build lasting customer relationships.

Dealers who modernize how they communicate and operate will unlock efficiency, deepen loyalty, and win long-term relationships. It is time to upgrade automotive retail to the 21st century.

About Mia

Mia Labs is an investor-backed startup on a mission to modernize dealership operations and transform the automotive consumer experience. Our AI agent, Mia, turns every call or inquiry into an opportunity, improving customer satisfaction and dealership performance through automation that feels human. We are trusted by some of the nation's largest dealership groups and are rapidly scaling our team, product offerings, and customer base.

As a Junior Recruiter, you will work closely with our hiring managers and Head of Talent to support the full recruitment lifecycle. This is a hands-on role where you will be instrumental in scheduling, candidate outreach, managing our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and helping to define our employer brand.

What You'll Do

  • Manage interview scheduling and logistics for multiple roles across different teams.

  • Assist in building and maintaining a pipeline of qualified candidates through proactive outreach on platforms like LinkedIn, AngelList, and internal databases.

  • Serve as the primary administrator for our Applicant Tracking System, Ashby, ensuring data integrity, updating job postings, and generating basic reports.

  • Act as the main point of contact for candidates, ensuring timely communication and providing an exceptional, high-touch experience from application to offer.

  • Identify and suggest ways to streamline our recruiting processes and improve efficiency, especially within Ashby.

  • Conduct initial screening calls to assess candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit for our startup environment.

What You'll Bring

  • 1+ year of experience in a coordination, administrative, or recruiting support role.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with candidates and internal stakeholders at all levels.

  • A proactive, 'get-it-done' attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.

  • Proficiency with modern recruiting technology (e.g., sourcing tools, calendar management, and ATS).

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience using Ashby as an Applicant Tracking System is highly preferred.

  • Experience supporting recruiting efforts for a high-growth startup.

  • Familiarity with HR processes and basic employment law compliance.

Why Mia

  • Equity participation through stock options.

  • Fully paid health, vision & dental insurance for employees.

  • Flexible PTO and hybrid schedule (3 days / week in downtown Austin).

  • Free lunches, paid parking, team events, and a casual, but get things done culture.

Compensation

  • Compensation for this position will be competitive with current market rates and reflective of the candidate's experience, skills and qualifications.
