Basil Therapy– A Fresh Take on Neurodiversity & Autism

ILLINOIS OR TEXAS LICENSE REQUIRED- PSYPACT PREFERRED

About Us:

We’re a fast-growing, fun, and forward-thinking company on a mission to transform how neurodivergent adults access diagnosis and ongoing support. Our team blends clinical expertise with a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. We offer affirming autism assessments, empowering therapy, and a modern, flexible approach to mental health care that puts humanity first.

The Role:

We’re looking for a warm, licensed, and neurodiversity-affirming mental health therapist to join our team as a contractor. In this dual-role position, you’ll provide ongoing mental health therapy to adult clients and support our diagnosing clinical psychologists as part of the autism evaluation process. You’ll work remotely, on your own schedule, and be part of a supportive and collaborative clinical team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct clinical interviews and psychosocial assessments as part of a comprehensive autism evaluation process
  • Provide individual psychotherapy to neurodivergent adults (including those exploring or newly diagnosed with autism)
  • Use evidence-based, affirming, and strengths-focused approaches to support emotional wellness, identity development, and life goals
  • Build trusting, long-term therapeutic relationships that support self-understanding and growth
  • Maintain clinical documentation and treatment planning in accordance with professional standards
  • Use structured tools, behavioral observations, and client narratives to build a holistic understanding of neurodivergent presentations
  • Document findings in a timely, organized, and strengths-based manner
  • Participate in case consultation and feedback preparation (as needed)
  • Communicate with care, clarity, and cultural humility in every interaction

What We’re Looking For:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or a related field
  • Active independent clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, or equivalent) in at least one U.S. state

  • Compassionate, open-minded, and culturally responsive approach to therapy and assessment
  • Experience working with neurodivergent adults (especially those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, etc.)

  • Strong clinical interview skills and comfort working in collaborative diagnostic environments

  • Exceptional interview and assessment skills
  • Comfort with telehealth and digital documentation
  • Respectful, affirming approach to neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ clients, and marginalized populations
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented

Nice to Have:

  • Multi-state licensure (PSYPACT is a huge plus for broader reach!)

  • Experience with gender-diverse and neurodiverse populations

  • Knowledge of co-occurring conditions (ADHS, anxiety, etc)

  • Familiarity with autism diagnostic tools or assessment frameworks

  • Familiarity with assessment tools like MIGDAS-2, SRS-2, or SCQ

What You’ll Get:

  • Competitive per-session compensation
  • Fully remote and flexible schedule
  • No billing, no admin chaos—we handle logistics and coordination
  • A supportive, friendly team that actually enjoys what they do
  • The opportunity to grow with a company on a mission to change the game in mental health care
  • Zero insurance billing—we handle all admin and logistics
  • A collaborative, respectful clinical team that values your voice
