You’ll report to our Director, Legal Operations and will be able to grow professionally as we branch out into new areas.
This role is ideal for someone building their career in Legal Ops who wants broad exposure to different practice areas and hands-on learning.
When it comes to dating, the connection starts online, but the real magic happens once you meet in real life (IRL). We think the same is true for creating the best platforms, so we work together IRL in-office 3 days/week. This role can be based in Dallas, West Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Vancouver, Dublin, or Paris; fully remote applicants will not be considered.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Manage support, maintenance, and user access of our legal systems.
- Monitor our contract management system, train Legal and Business teams, negotiate standard NDAs according to our playbook with supervision from lawyers, and ensure entry and execution of all contracts in accordance with company policies.Oversee our eBilling processes and tools, including setting up vendors, reviewing billing rates, troubleshooting access and payments with law firms, opening matters, and collaborating with our Finance team to ensure invoices are paid promptly.
- Identify efficiency opportunities and work cross-functionally to roll out enhancements and new tools.
- Analyze legal data to answer business questions and design improvements.
- Dig into data on outside counsel spend, contracts, vendor performance, and more.
- Export reports from our legal systems and analyze data in Excel to answer questions for our attorneys and business partners.
- Prepare written summaries and presentation slide decks to tell the story of our legal work, identify process improvement opportunities, and bring solutions to life.
- Build clear reports and dashboards for lawyers to access meaningful metrics from within our legal systems.
- Support internal communications for the Legal team, helping lawyers work more efficiently and ensuring business partners get the support they need.
- Help implement new legal systems and tools. Develop training guides, video walkthroughs, and quick tips and communicate clearly so everyone is set up for success.
- Be on the front line of executing communications strategies for the legal team, business partners, and suppliers. Write succinct messages through Slack and email and be on call to answer questions.
- Track feedback and communicate empathetically to find workarounds and prioritize long-term solutions.
We could be a match if:
- You have two to three years of experience in legal operations or as a paralegal. Law firm paralegals looking to move in-house are welcome.
- You’re experienced with one or more legal systems such as eBilling (SimpleLegal, Legal Tracker, Brightflag), CLM (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Evisort, Agiloft), eSignature, Entity Management, eDiscovery, and are eager to learn more.
- You understand law firm billing practices and have hands-on experience or are excited to learn about LEDES files, UTBMS codes, AFAs, accruals, phase and life-of-matter budgets, and timekeeper rate cards.
- You’re naturally curious and willing to dig into a question to find the answer. You’re excited by tough problems and want to put in the effort to find a solution and see things through.
- You’re comfortable working with Excel and are eager to deepen your analytical skills (combining datasets with XLOOKUP, cleaning up and summarizing data with pivot tables, and creating presentation-ready charts and slides).
- You’re comfortable interacting with lawyers, accountants, and developers and are excited to help different teams communicate with each other. You’re a strong writer who can explain issues clearly and send concise, actionable messages.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, effectively managing day-to-day responsibilities while making consistent progress on long-term initiatives.
- Contributes to a collaborative and productive team environment, positively impacting cross-functional work across Match Group.
