We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.
About the Role
Join Hinge’s Trust & Safety group as a Senior Content Designer to drive impactful work across some of Hinge’s most strategic and sensitive product areas. We’re looking for a content designer who thrives in complex, nuanced spaces and brings clarity, empathy, and precision to every interaction. This role is for someone passionate about using language to build trust, reduce harm, and empower people to make meaningful connections with confidence, helping to create a less lonely world.
You’ll lead content design in this space and partner closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Policy, and Research teams to shape how safety is communicated and experienced across Hinge. From prevention and education to reporting and resolution, you’ll design and deliver product flows, in-app messaging, and content frameworks that make experiences clear, consistent, and accessible. In this role, you’ll help Hinge set the standard for safe, human-centered dating experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead content design for key Trust & Safety initiatives from discovery through launch, delivering flows, naming, education, and in-app messaging.
  • Translate complex concepts into approachable, trustworthy language and interaction patterns, partnering with policy and legal teams to ensure language is clear, inclusive, and compliant.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve content frameworks, taxonomies, reusable patterns, and standards to enable velocity without compromising quality or consistency across safety touchpoints.
  • Conduct content audits and test messaging to validate comprehension, tone, and clarity across experiences.
  • Work side-by-side with Product, Design, Engineering, Policy, and Research to align strategy and execution.
  • Contribute to design critiques, content reviews, and research synthesis to improve content quality and user understanding.
  • Communicate design intent and content rationale clearly, connecting decisions to user needs and product goals.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Hinge’s voice and tone frameworks for safety and integrity, balancing empathy, clarity, and accountability in how we talk about safety, privacy, and trust.
  • Use a systems thinking approach to identify opportunities to improve and scale consistent, transparent communication across product surfaces.
  • Model thoughtful, user-centered content design grounded in clarity and purpose; provide thoughtful feedback; and contribute to a collaborative, curious, and high-craft design culture.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or related fields.
  • Experience designing for complex or sensitive product spaces such as safety, privacy, or identity.
  • Experience using generative AI to drive ideation and developing user-facing LLM content.Ability to structure and simplify ambiguous or evolving problem areas.
  • Expert writing and editing skills—able to make complex ideas feel simple, empathetic, and human.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking: connecting language, frameworks, and design systems to shape cohesive experiences.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, localization, and inclusive content design practices.
  • Experience using research and data to inform and iterate on content decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a calm, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Skills & Capabilities
  • Content Craft: Expert execution across the content design lifecycle—from UX writing and information architecture to testing and iteration. Brings precision, empathy, and clarity to every experience.
  • Systems Thinking: Designs scalable frameworks and content patterns that create consistency and quality across multiple surfaces and product areas.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Navigates nuanced, high-trust spaces with creativity and rigor. Balances empathy, clarity, and compliance to craft responsible solutions that protect and empower users.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Builds alignment and momentum across teams through clear communication, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to collaboration.
