Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted
In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.
About the Role:
Join Hinge's Growth Group as a Lead Product Designer to drive impactful work within the Monetization team. This role is for a senior individual contributor who thrives in ambiguity, elevates team craft, and can turn complex challenges into emotionally intelligent, premium user experiences.
In this role, you will focus on defining the future of Hinge’s premium offerings, including subscription and à la carte products. You will find the sweet spot between dater needs and business goals by designing thoughtful features that drive value worth paying for. You’ll lead design for multi-quarter initiatives, mentor peers, prototype bold ideas, and work closely with partners in Product, Engineering, and User Research. You should be excited to explore new interaction paradigms, evolve our design system, and help Hinge set the standard for human-centered dating experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership and Execution: Lead end-to-end design for monetization and premium experiences, turning ambiguous problem spaces and strategic direction into user flows, prototypes, and polished UI that drive sustainable growth.
  • Craft and Systems Thinking: Maintain a high bar for visual, interaction, and motion design while evolving design systems and visual language to deliver cohesive, scalable premium experiences with speed and quality.
  • Mentorship and Influence: Coach and support designers across levels, model strong collaboration and problem solving, and foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and emotional intelligence within Growth and Monetization.
  • Strategic Collaboration and Impact: Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to define vision, validate concepts, present to leadership, and deliver outcomes aligned to user needs, revenue goals, and broader strategy.
  • Prototyping and Innovation: Advance experimentation through rapid and advanced prototyping—including GenAI—to unlock differentiated experiences and establish growth-focused testing patterns in emotionally complex spaces.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years in product design, with a track record of leading complex initiatives and setting a high bar for quality.
  • Prior success leading design in fast-paced consumer mobile environments (social, wellness, community, or similar preferred).
  • Specific experience with monetization, subscription services, or e-commerce is highly desirable.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end mastery across systems thinking, visual polish, interaction design, and strategic problem solving.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and design systems.
  • Sharp understanding of design systems and accessibility best practices.
  • Deep expertise across the product design lifecycle: research synthesis, IA, visual design, prototyping, and testing.
  • Strength in workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
  • Skilled at integrating research and data insights into design, particularly in experimental contexts.
  • Recognized subject matter expert with a calm, empathetic, and adaptable leadership style.
  • Strong cross-functional instincts—able to jump into new teams and align diverse stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Passionate about helping others grow and contributing to a high-functioning, joyful design culture.

Bonus Experience

  • Work in dating, social, or emotionally nuanced domains.
  • Experience with AI or advanced prototyping workflows.
  • Visual design or branding expertise, especially across large-scale product redesigns.
  • Active contributor to the design community through writing, speaking, or mentorship.
