We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.
About the Role
Hinge is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Project Manager with a strong background in Platforms, Infrastructure, and Data management. The ideal candidate should be technically proficient, adaptable to different project management frameworks, and have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex data and platform projects.
Reporting to the Director of Technical Project Management, Platforms, you will be a valued collaborator and leader as we continue to expand our mission to build and deliver a best in class TPM discipline at Hinge.
Technical Project Managers support Product & Engineering as cross-functional team members with a specific focus on planning, execution, and delivery. You will partner with a multidisciplinary team of engineers across our organization, and will have the opportunity to solve deeply technical, challenging problems focused on supporting and building a compelling product that helps users find love and meaningful connections.
At Hinge, we take a pragmatic, non-dogmatic approach to project management. Using both agile and traditional project management methodologies we combine and develop hybrid tools to drive project and team success.
You will lead with best practices to deliver projects predictably and with transparency, develop and ensure teams adopt continuous improvement practices, and be a key partner to product and engineering leads to ensure planning and execution run seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end technical projects related to data platform development, deployment, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, platform engineers, operations specialists, and business stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across teams, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define and lead continuous improvement processes focused on transparency, execution, and scalability, with the goal of enabling greater predictability, clarity, and high quality delivery.
  • Act as an evangelist and coach of project management and agile best practices across multiple workstreams. Play the role of force multiplier for Product and Engineering Managers through thoughtful change management.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in technical project/program management, preferably with SRE, Infrastructure, or Data platform teams.
  • Proven experience with data operations, platform architecture, and data management best practices.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) with the ability to adapt based on project requirements.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, change management, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Agile, Scrum, and/or Project Management certifications are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related fields or equivalent industry experience.
