Our Mission
As humans, there are few things more exciting than meeting someone new. At Tinder, we’re inspired by the challenge of keeping the magic of human connection alive. With tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of downloads, 2+ billion swipes per day, 20+ million matches per day, and a presence in 190+ countries, our reach is expansive—and rapidly growing.
We work together to solve complex problems. Behind the simplicity of every match, we think deeply about human relationships, behavioral science, network economics, AI and ML, online and real-world safety, cultural nuances, loneliness, love, sex, and more.
We are expanding a Release and QA team within Tinder’s Foundations pillar to continue to deliver a best-in-class product that safeguards our members’ experience and supports Tinder’s missions to help people meet strangers in a fun way in real life on a global scale. As a Sr. Engineering Manager on the Release and QA team, you will partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership to maintain and improve Tinder's product release and quality.
Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three days per week. This position is located in Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

  • Grow and lead a team of engineers to create and maintain the process that best serves the quality across all Tinder engineering/product while identifying potential team leaders (both technical and people leaders).
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, design, and business development to deliver product features on time and quality.
  • Understand the gaps in the release and QA process and establish a long-term team roadmap (particularly an engineering roadmap) for addressing the identified gaps.

  • Address any mobile app release rejections while coordinating with key partners promptly.
  • Drive the critical conversations between Apple, Google, Tinder business development, and Match group program management to smoothen the release process.
  • Co-own the top-of-funnel metrics with the marketing and business development teams and identify the opportunity for in-app events, custom product pages, and product page optimization.
  • Establish engineering org-wide release and test quality transparency via a comprehensive reporting solution.
  • Work closely with the platform team (dev experience) to improve the quality of mobile regression testing.
  • Drive strategic plans and tactical execution that align with business goals.
  • Implements and scales out standard processes on the teams while keeping a higher level of consistency by identifying/gathering any issues/bugs pre-release/QA.
  • Lead and mentor team members to reach their full potential.

You’ll need:

  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of QA automation, release management or engineering experience.
  • Strong ownership and accountability to lead all aspects of the release process and quality.
  • Maintain and improve team project management rituals, either Scrum or Kanban.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering and maintaining the quality of large-scale, end-to-end (consumer-facing) apps/systems.
  • Passion for taking initiative and driving high-leverage solutions in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience managing technical trade-offs, strong sense of ownership, and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to advocate and present to non-technical audiences, including leadership, in an easily digestible manner.
  • Desire and ability to grow, encourage, and empower the team to go above and beyond.
  • Experience working autonomously with multiple teams across backend, iOS, Android, Web platforms, data, product, analytics, design, business development, and external vendors.

Nice to have:
