About the Role
As a Senior Supplier Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of our largest wholesale accounts, each supplying significant inventory to our marketplace. This high-touch role emphasizes strategic supplier relationship management, focusing on driving aggressive business growth and building trust for Ghost to be the preferred choice for sourcing optimal buying opportunities. Your expertise in supplier engagement, negotiation, and performance optimization will be pivotal in achieving our growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Management & Relationship Building
- Develop and execute tailored engagement plans for each key supplier, aligning their business objectives with our marketplace offerings to maximize value and satisfaction
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders across supplier organizations, serving as their primary point of contact and advocate within our company
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities, leveraging data-driven insights to expand category, brand, and product offerings and increase transaction volumes
- Lead negotiations for favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that support long-term business relationships
Performance & Market Monitoring
- Analyze supplier performance metrics, including order fulfillment rates, pricing competitiveness, and inventory accuracy, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and supplier business developments to identify new opportunities and potential risks
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with internal teams, including Supply, Operations, Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD), and Finance to ensure seamless service delivery and to advocate for supplier needs in product development and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; MBA is a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, or related roles, with a proven track record of managing large-scale supplier portfolios and driving business growth
- Experience in managed marketplaces, retail / eCommerce, excess inventory solutions, or supply chain management is highly desirable
- Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Hubspot)
- Self-motivated, client-focused, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience in a fast-moving and dynamic startup environment
Our total compensation for this position can range from $150,000 - $175,000. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position.
