Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analyst to join our team at Ghost. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's data-driven culture and enabling data-driven decision-making across various departments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights and ensure data integrity. Be a founding member of the data team at Ghost with great growth opportunities working with all departments and leadership.
This role is based out of Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a data-driven culture, elevating decision-making by embracing data and analytics.
- Develop and execute a strategic data roadmap, aligning with business objectives to drive impactful outcomes through data utilization.
- Unleash the power of data analysis, extracting meaningful insights from complex and evolving datasets, translating them into actionable solutions.
- Provide comprehensive data and reporting support across multiple departments, including Product, Sales, Leadership, Marketing, and more.
- Collaborate closely with the Product team to meet data requirements and offer insights for measuring the success of new features.
- Evaluate campaign performance and offer data-driven insights to enhance email campaigns and advertising strategies.
- Create effective reports and dashboards, making data accessible and understandable to non-technical teams.
- Utilize SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) expertise for data manipulation, mining, and ad-hoc reports.
- Manage data sources and integrations, ensuring accuracy and setting up new integrations as needed.
- Build and maintain reliable data models with strong business logic for data integrity and governance.
- Proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies, leveraging intelligent alerts and robust reporting tools.
- Lead and manage a team of contractor-offshore resources to enhance data science models.
- Generate high-quality data and take ownership of critical datasets for data models.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in data analytics, with a preference for retail or marketplace expertise.
- Proven track record in promoting data-driven decision-making and data literacy.
- Strong proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) for data manipulation and extraction.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Metabase, or similar platforms.
- Excellent collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources, including offline sources like Google Sheets.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to build accurate data models using business logic.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, addressing root causes of data discrepancies.
- Effective communicator, conveying complex insights to non-technical teams.
- Proactive, independent, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
