Your Team:
You’ll be joining Evertune’s software engineering team – small, focused, and deeply collaborative. We’re currently a distributed group of 8-10 engineers working across Seattle and New York, with a few contractors supporting specialized projects. While we span time zones, we operate with tight alignment and shared urgency. Our engineers ship fast, sweat the details, and genuinely enjoy building together. As one of the earliest hires on the team, you'll be helping to shape not just how we code – but how we grow, communicate, and scale.

Your Role:
You’ll take deep technical ownership of the backend systems that power our AI Discovery platform, working at the bleeding edge of evaluating and applying LLMs to real-world problems. This includes designing distributed systems, optimizing AI integrations, and making architectural decisions that help us scale quickly and reliably. You’ll also help elevate the team by mentoring junior engineers and guiding best practices, architecture choices, and technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend infrastructure in Python

  • Design resilient APIs, optimize data pipelines, and ensure system reliability

  • Help integrate and test data from third-party APIs, including LLM providers like OpenAI and Anthropic

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across the stack to ensure reliability and performance

  • Integrate with major AI APIs, managing performance, cost, and observability

  • Influence long-term technical direction and backend architecture

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and coaching

  • Collaborate across the stack to ship product features quickly and reliably

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building resilient, performant, and scalable backend systems for user-facing or B2B products

  • Expertise in Python or similar and distributed systems

  • Strong database design skills (MongoDB or similar)

  • Proven experience integrating with third-party APIs at scale

  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), observability tools, and CI/CD workflows

  • Excellent communication and leadership-influence skills

  • Must be able to work in our Seattle office 2–3 days per week (hybrid model)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with generative AI, LLM APIs, or ML infrastructure

  • Currently using LLMs to boost engineering workflows

  • Familiarity with message queues or event-driven systems

  • Prior startup or high-growth company experience

Compensation Philosophy & Benefits:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is just one part of our total compensation package that includes equity, perks & benefits, and development opportunities at Evertune AI. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity relative to other Evertune AI employees. It is our expectation that the majority of candidates who are offered roles at Evertune AI will land well within our salary ranges based on these factors.

Compensation Range: $140K - $200K
