Chief of Staff & Agents
Brace Health
About the job
About Brace Health
Brace Health is on a mission to ensure every patient gets covered for the care they need and every doctor gets paid for the work they do.
Independent healthcare practices deliver better outcomes, more personalized care, and lower costs to patients, but they're disappearing, squeezed by payers and buried in administrative complexity. We're building vertically integrated technology systems that automate healthcare payments end-to-end, so the practices that serve their communities best can survive and thrive.
We're one of the fastest growing companies in healthcare, now serving thousands of patients and processing millions of dollars of claims. We’ve raised a seed round from Bessemer Venture Partners (Anthropic, Shopify, Twilio) and top seed investors. This is an opportunity to join an exceptional founding team in an early role with a major equity stake.
The Role
We’re looking for an exceptional operator to serve as Chief of Staff and build the AI agent layer that scales our company to millions of patient lives.
You’ll work directly with the co-founders as both a strategic partner and a builder - owning the systems, workflows, and agent infrastructure that power our go-to-market and customer operations. This is a hybrid role: part Chief of Staff, part technical operator. You’ll help drive the company’s highest-priority initiatives while also building the AI systems that make them real.
The work has real stakes. Clinics stay open because their billing runs cleanly. Clinicians get paid because claims move fast. Patients get care because the back-office doesn’t break down. This role sits at the center of making that happen.
We’re early enough that the systems and rhythms you build will be foundational, not incremental. You’ll have direct access to the founders, a front-row seat to building a venture-backed healthcare AI company from the ground up, and real ownership over how the company operates and scales.
This role is based in Boston, MA (or relocation required). We cannot offer visa sponsorship at this time.
What You'll Do
Act as a force multiplier for the founders. Help drive the company’s highest-priority initiatives across product, go-to-market, and operations. Bring structure to ambiguity, ensure follow-through, and execute on what matters most.
Build and run our AI agent systems. Design and deploy the AI workflows that power our operations: agentic organization management, claim status agents, outreach sequences, prospect research pipelines, customer health monitoring, and internal tooling that makes our billing team dramatically more effective. Work closely with engineering to spec and ship product features-and often build them yourself.
Own execution across go-to-market and operations. Build and operate the systems behind our sales and customer motion: prospecting infrastructure, enrichment pipelines, outbound sequencing, CRM architecture, and the data flows that make our pipeline and customer base visible and actionable.
Run the operating cadence of the company. Help instrument dashboards, KPI tracking, and escalation workflows. Ensure leadership has a real-time understanding of performance, risks, and opportunities - and that decisions translate into execution.
Lead high-priority strategic projects. Take on cross-functional initiatives as the business evolves - partner integrations, new market analysis, pricing experiments, onboarding redesigns. You’re the person who steps into ambiguity and turns it into execution.
What You'll Bring
You’ve been described as someone who “gets things done no matter what.” You’re equally comfortable in a strategy conversation with founders and in the weeds building systems yourself. You don’t separate thinking from doing.
Requirements
-
2–5 years of experience in a high-impact role spanning product, operations, GTM, consulting, or a high-growth startup
-
STEM degree or demonstrated technical ability
-
Technically curious and hands-on: You’ve written code or co-built projects using tools like Codex, Claude, Gemini, etc., and are excited to go deeper with AI, automation, and data systems
-
Boston: Already based in Boston or willing to relocate
-
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; we are unable to sponsor visas at this time
What we look for
-
High IQ and EQ: strong problem-solving ability paired with strong people instincts
-
High agency: you identify what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting
-
Bias to action: you build, run, and improve systems, not just recommend them
-
High ownership: you care deeply about outcomes, not just inputs
-
Strong judgment: you make thoughtful tradeoffs and know where to focus
-
Clear communicator: you can simplify complexity and drive alignment across teams
