About the team

Alloy is a leading provider of digital identity management, helping innovative FinTech companies and banks manage KYC, AML, and other components of client onboarding. Our single API enables clients to access 50+ third-party data sources in real time to improve decision-making and streamline client experiences.

As Alloy grows, we’re scaling our Technical Account Management (TAM) team to ensure our mid-market clients - regional banks, digital lenders, and fast-growing fintechs - receive the same level of proactive, strategic partnership as our largest enterprise customers. These accounts represent Alloy’s fastest-expanding segment, with complex but repeatable technical needs and significant opportunities for product adoption and growth. To support this scale, we’re hiring a Manager of Commercial TAMs, someone who can lead a team of experienced ICs, provide hands-on guidance and escalation support, and build the operational structure needed to serve a large, diverse client base efficiently and consistently.

Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week.

What you'll be doing

As Manager of Commercial TAMs, you’ll be responsible for both people leadership and execution of the function. You’ll coach and grow a team of TAMs, set standards for how we manage commercial accounts, and ensure Alloy delivers consistently high-quality technical partnership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Directly manage Commercial TAMs, providing mentorship, feedback, and career development support to build a high-performing team.
  • Commercial Coverage & Prioritization: Oversee account allocation, ensuring commercial clients receive consistent, strategic TAM engagement aligned with their complexity and value.
  • Escalation Management: Act as a point of escalation for commercial clients, guiding TAMs through complex technical or relationship challenges.
  • Player-Coach Model: Personally manage 1–3 commercial accounts, modeling best practices for client engagement while maintaining hands-on technical depth.
  • Process & Best Practice Development: Define and standardize best practices for migrations, custom solution scoping, roadmap sessions, and health checks across commercial accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Support leadership to advocate for commercial client needs while balancing long-term platform health.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement systems for visibility into TAM workload, client health, and commercial initiatives, ensuring TAM leadership can scale effectively.
  • Strategic Influence: Work with executive leadership to align TAM strategy with Alloy’s broader commercial growth and retention goals.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a proven people manager who combines technical depth with strong leadership skills, thrives in complex client environments, and can scale a high-performing team in a fast-growing SaaS company.

  • 2-4 years experience managing post-sales technical teams (TAMs, Solutions Engineers, or similar).
  • 6-8 years of experience in Technical Account Management, Solutions Engineering, Implementation, or similar client-facing technical roles.
  • Proven track record of independently managing commercial/mid-tier accounts.
  • Strong technical skills across:
    • REST APIs and system integrations
    • SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
    • Backend languages (Node.js preferred)
    • Web development fundamentals (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React)
  • Proven ability to manage escalations and guide teams through complex client challenges.
  • Experience building and scaling processes across multiple accounts and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills - able to coach ICs, influence cross-functional peers, and present to executive stakeholders.
  • Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with directly managing a small book of commercial accounts.
  • Background in financial services, fraud, or compliance is a plus.

We're a lean team, so your impact will be felt immediately, and opportunities will grow as the company scales up. If this all sounds like a good fit for you, why not join us?
