We are expanding a Release team within Tinder’s Foundations pillar to continue to deliver a best-in-class product that safeguards our members’ experience and supports Tinder’s mission. As an Engineering Manager on the Mobile Release team, you will partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership to maintain and improve Tinder's product release and quality.
Please note this position can be located in West Hollywood, San Francisco, or Palo Alto.

What You'll Do:

  • Grow and lead a team of engineers to create and maintain processes that best serve software quality across Tinder engineering/product teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and design to deliver product features on time and quality.
  • Lead the app store meta-data and oversee the app submission process (including localization, branch cut, pre-submission testing, app regression testing, etc.).
  • Maintain and improve the release process for handling urgent hotfixes and release approval requests.
  • Address any mobile app release rejections while coordinating with key partners in a timely manner.
  • Drive the critical conversations between Apple, Google, Tinder business development, and Match Group program management to smoothen the release process.
  • Co-own the top-of-funnel metrics with the marketing and business development teams and identify opportunities for in-app events, custom product pages, and optimization.
  • Establish engineering org-wide release and test quality transparency via a comprehensive reporting solution.
  • Work closely with the platform team to improve the quality of mobile regression testing.
  • Drive strategic plans and tactical execution that align with business goals.
  • Establish standard processes in release management.
  • Lead and mentor team members to reach their full potential.

What You'll Need:

  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of release management or engineering experience.
  • Strong ownership and accountability to be responsible for the release process and quality.
  • Maintain and improve team project management rituals either Scrum or Kanban.
  • Hands on experience in delivering and maintaining quality of large-scale, end-to-end (consumer-facing) apps/systems.
  • Passion for taking initiatives and driving high leverage solutions in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • Wisdom on technical trade offs, strong sense of ownership and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to advocate and present to non-technical audiences, including leadership, in an easily digestible manner.
  • Desire and ability to grow, inspire and empower the team to go above and beyond.
  • Experience working autonomously with multiple teams across backend, iOS, Android, Web platforms, data, product, analytics, design, business development and external vendors.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in mobile app release management.
  • Experience in AWS stack – especially with mobile emphasis.
  • Experience in various testing SaaS solutions such as Testrails and Applitools.
  • Have experience with setting up and managing one of the listed CI systems such as Jenkins, BuildKite, CIrcleCi, Bitrise.
  • Experience in accessibility and localization testing.
  • Have enterprise experience to work with native test automation solutions such as XCUITest and Espresso.
